Advanced Training and Development
A decision to formally enter the ministry must be driven by an absolute passion for the work of the Gospel, fueled by the Holy Spirit, and accountable to Jesus Christ.
It is the most profound decision you will ever make. Our biblical model is discipleship and mentoring, which will gain you the experience necessary to know, for sure, that this is the step for you. This time of contemplation and prayer is what “Counting The Cost” means. Too often, the bridge focuses all of her attention on the wedding and none on the actual work of marriage. Experiencing the work of the ministry is key to understanding your place in it, and a time of preparation will give you time to consider, reconsider, or perhaps discover other areas in which to serve. But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” [Luke 9:62]
110: Ministerial Development and Training
Courses 101-107 Required
This course extends beyond the study of the definition of discipleship by covering how, as a minister, you are to operate daily as a disciple of Christ; and how to make disciples of others.
All the technical learning of ministry is useless without a real-life understanding and practice of how to operate in the world. Here, Dr. Joelle prepares each student with full practicum, etiquette, and the ‘do’s and don’ts’ of ministry assignments. How to prepare a bible study? How to minister to the needy? This and much more is covered in this course.
