Torches in Clay Pots

Then the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers—they held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands for blowing—and they cried, ‘The sword of the LORD and of Gideon!’ - Judges 7:20 NKJV

Reflection
Gideon’s men broke their clay pots and revealed the torches within, a picture of God’s treasure in earthen vessels. When we humble ourselves, the glory of Christ shines through. We do not rely on our strength or numbers, but on His sufficiency. The Holy Spirit deals with pride and self-sufficiency so that His light may flood out in greater measure.

Application
➤ Acknowledge your sufficiency comes from God alone.   
➤ Allow Him to break pride and self-reliance.  
➤ Abide in Christ in surrender and humility.
