How Do We Quench Our Thirst?

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. - John 7:37-38 KJV

In the natural, when we are dehydrated, we might not diagnose the need for water; our head, joints, and muscles might hurt… putting the focus on the symptoms instead of the cause. It is similar in the Spirit. When the living waters are not flowing as they should, we must recognize our thirst, our longing for a touch from the Lord.

Our schedules make it challenging for us to find the time to come to the Lord to quench our thirst and receive His refreshing touch, but it is necessary. The result of seeking Him first helps us with everything we need to do. As soon as we notice we are more in the flesh than the spirit, we should run to Jesus. Our adversary, satan, tempts us to run to other substitutes to fill us.

By faith, we come to Him and drink, receiving all He is by faith. As He fills us to overflowing, He touches and transforms us, and others, through us. The more He quenches our spiritual thirst, the more our thirst for the wrong things diminishes,  from glory to glory
