Jump!
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. - Col. 3:2
Jumping out of an airplane is a helpful illustration of stepping out of the natural realm to walk in the supernatural. This step of faith comes from total trust in God’s ways of enabling us to do what He calls us to do. In our day-to-day lives, we learn to depend on the Lord, but like an eagle, we often have to be pushed out of our nest to learn to fly.
The plane represents our places of dependency, the things we know so well—our comfort zone. It is anything that God leads us to move out of to experience Him in a greater way. After we take that initial step and jump out the first time, it becomes increasingly easier. We begin to look forward to doing it again and again as we experience God’s supernatural ways. To be out of the plane is to walk in the Spirit.
When we jump, we can trust that God will catch us. His ways of doing so are the parachutes He opens: His love, His faith, His touch, His joy, His peace… Him! Gently, God pushes us out of our planes so we can learn to fly and experience Him, from glory to glory!
