Father Who Sees in Secret

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.- Mat. 6:6

When we proceed to shut the door to pray, distractions increase and test our boundaries. Shutting out worldly things helps us shut in with our Heavenly Father. The more we understand why we are shut in, the better we can shut distractions out. During this time, nothing else, including our phone, should intrude on our meeting with God.

Though we can communicate with the Lord amidst others or while doing other activities, having a set place to meet our Father holds special significance. In this secret place, God reveals Himself to us in intimate ways. Our Father, who sees in secret, rewards us openly. When we shut the door to distraction, the door to revelation opens.

If we don't establish a personal connection with God, our prayers for others will lack fervency. Our public praise and prayers avail little if never practiced in private. Father who sees in secret, knows and hears our hearts. He sees our pursuit of His presence. What a blessing it is to encounter Him in our secret place, from glory to glory!
