Fiery Darts
Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. - Eph. 6:16
Fiery darts are flaming arrows, coming at us like missiles, intending to inflame and unsettle us. They come in various forms: a negative, critical, dark thought that drops into our minds unexpectedly, an offense from an interaction with someone, or a trial that suddenly throws us into a desperate state. Our faith in who Christ is and what He has done shields us from these attacks.
God uses every fiery dart that comes against us to empower us to exercise our faith in Him. The more attacks we face, the more our faith strengthens, increasing our impact against the kingdom of darkness. During these times, God prepares us to overcome future challenges, building our faith from strength to strength.
As we advance the Kingdom, our adversary attempts to render us ineffective. However, the opposite happens: the fire of the Holy Spirit increases in and through our lives. We put on Christ, appropriating our shining armor. Let's stand firm, extinguish all the fiery darts, and walk victoriously, from glory to glory!
