Our Faith Works Through Love

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love. - Gal. 5:6
It is the love of God we have for others that moves us to minister to them by faith. Without faith working through love, we perform works by the flesh and are not led by the Spirit of God. Love activates faith. Faith does not work in response to legalistic expectations or the dos and don’ts, nor is it about the what but the whom. Faith is in a person, Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
When we know in our hearts that God loved us and gave Himself for us, we believe. As we have received Him, we walk in Him. As we love the Lord, He lavishes us with His love for others. We believe in His love and stand by faith in Him. Only the Lord can love us enough to keep us. Nothing can separate us from His love.
We do not possess this kind of faith naturally; it’s given by God. We receive it through the reading of the Word of God, prayer, and fellowship with Him. He removes fear and enables us to stand on His promises for ourselves and others. We rest in the assurance that God will do the work with and through us. We respond, believe, and receive, from glory to glory!
