How Do We Hear God's Voice?
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. - John 5:14-15
When we know God hears us, our communication and communion with Him increase. As we seek to hear His voice, other voices will try to hinder the clarity with which we hear. It could be our own voice, the voice of others, or the voice of our enemy. We must turn up the volume of the spiritual realm to turn down interferences to our hearing.
Whenever a lie gets too loud, we must tune our minds to the truth. Whenever the sound of the world increases, the sound of heaven gets even louder. When hurtful words come at us, we must quickly hear God’s reassuring Word. We learn to recognize God’s voice and tune out any hindering voices. God’s voice should speak louder than all others.
God loves us so much! He longs to hear from us. We can come boldly to the throne of grace for whatever need, bringing only ourselves, just as we are. Here we surrender all, love Him, and delight in listening to Him. Our fellowship is without ceasing. Amid all we do, we know He is here. He never leaves us nor forsakes us. Let us silence all to hear God, from glory to glory!
