Delight Yourself in the Lord
Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. - Psalm 37:4-5.
Our love for God brings us joy. We delight ourselves in the Lord, enjoy His presence, and find contentment in all things. Our prayer for His will to be done is with assurance in His love and care. Even though we don’t know what our future holds, we trust He holds our future and cares for us. As we delight ourselves in Him, we discover God’s desires for us.
We could not have thought of these desires on our own. They come with the faith and anointing only He can give. We don’t recognize these desires right away. They grow as God continues to make them clear, by revelation. Sometimes they resemble dreams because of their impossibility apart from the hand of God. We worship a big God and should dream big dreams!
We have a tendency to hold on to familiar desires. As we obey God's leading, we commit our way to Him and trust that He will bring it to pass. Each instruction we follow replaces or refines old desires. We delight ourselves in Him regardless of our circumstances. Our primary goal is to walk in the spirit, not the flesh, from glory to glory!
