He Will Lift You Up
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. - James 4:10.
We don’t give up; instead, we give it up to God. In entrusting ourselves to His care, we embrace total surrender. From this stance of surrender, we gain strength to resist controlling forces and negative influences. Setting healthy boundaries becomes easier, as we refuse to let compromises infiltrate our lives. In moments of inner turmoil, our surrender is not to despair but to hope; not to fear, but to faith; not to defeat, but to victory. Above all, we choose to yield not to the flesh, but to the Spirit.
Consider the story of a woman tempted by adultery. What began as a seemingly harmless conversation quickly escalated into a hug, a touch, and then a kiss. In that critical moment, she saw herself surrendering to something that would ultimately destroy her. Instead, she chose to surrender to God, empowering her to walk away. Likewise, in challenging situations, surrendering to God helps us avoid being overwhelmed by negative thoughts or external pressures.
Giving up is never the answer. Our victory lies in God’s power. When we lift our hands, it’s not in defeat but in praise and surrender to His will. Through His strength, we walk in freedom, from glory to glory!
