Breaking Down Walls

"Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in." – Joshua 6:1 NKJV

God uses brokenness in our lives to bring wholeness. It’s not something we choose or plan; it often comes unexpectedly—through one prayer, one word, one event, or one touch. As God restores our souls, He mends the cracks and fissures, transforming us into glorious vessels. By His grace, He breaks down the walls we’ve built for self-protection in wounded areas.

In the presence of God, even walls we were unaware of crumble. Sometimes, we don’t realize something needs to be broken until it happens; when it does, we experience a new freedom we never imagined possible. Walls not only keep others from reaching in, but they also keep us from reaching out. In avoiding pain, we may unknowingly create a void that blocks God’s best for us.

The Holy Spirit breaks down these internal barriers, affirming that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. When this happens, we often weep—not from sadness, but from awe at the healing God brings into our lives. He picks up the broken pieces and restores peace. He replaces our brokenness with His wholeness—from glory to glory!

Lord, thank You for breaking down every wall that hinders Your best in our lives. We surrender our brokenness to You. Restore our souls, bring healing to every wounded area, and fill us with Your peace and freedom. We trust in Your loving restoration, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
