Make Room for Him

"And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn." – Luke 2:7 NKJV

When it was time for Jesus to be born, Joseph and Mary were forced to stay in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn. No one made room for them, so Jesus—the Savior of the World—was born in a place no one would expect for royalty. Even now, Jesus is looking for us to make room for Him.

We may think our hearts are not clean, that we are unworthy of Him, or that we aren’t ready to receive Him. But God desires us to invite Him in just as we are. He moves in and transforms our house—from a manger to a mansion. When we expect guests, we clean our homes from top to bottom, but the Lord only asks us to surrender to Him and hand over the keys to our hearts.

When we make room for Jesus in every area of our lives, He becomes a host, not just a guest. We don’t settle for a simple visitation of the Lord; we desire His habitation. What was temporary becomes permanent, and what was seasonal becomes continuous. As we celebrate the birth of our Savior, may He be welcomed into every household, occupying a bigger place in our hearts than ever before—from glory to glory!
