The Fire of His Presence

And they said to one another, 'Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?'" – Luke 24:32 NKJV

Reflection
The disciples on the road to Emmaus felt their hearts burn as Jesus spoke. We too can experience this when we immerse ourselves in His Word and presence. This holy heartburn is a witness of the Holy Spirit, bringing confirmation, divine inspiration, and renewal. The Spirit stirs within us an inner fire that cannot be extinguished.

Application
Pay attention to this spiritual “heartburn.” Follow its flow when seeking God’s guidance. Recall times when you ignored it and the lessons you learned, as well as the blessings that followed when you took heed. Stand on your spiritual watch, expecting rivers of living water.

Connection
Lord, ignite within me this blessed heartburn. I desire to feel the flow of the Holy Spirit invigorating every aspect of my life. Lead me with clarity and purpose. Help me take heed to Your presence. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
