Do Not Fear but Cheer

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. – John 16:33 NKJV

Reflection:
Jesus reminds us that tribulation is part of this world—but so is His peace. When we face adversity, we are not left to react in fear. Instead, we can stand on the truth that He has overcome. Cheer, in this context, is not a surface-level emotion but a deep spiritual confidence in Christ’s victory.

Application:
In moments of fear or discouragement, remember who goes before you. Speak His Word, sing His praises, and encourage others as you go. Let your joy be rooted in Christ, not in changing circumstances. God empowers us to cheer others on in their journey as well.

Connection (Prayer):
Lord, thank You for the peace You give in every storm. Help me walk in cheer, not fear, and be a light of encouragement to those around me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
