Grace in Humility

"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." – 1 Peter 5:5 NKJV

Reflection
When control becomes abusive, it often stems from fear and insecurity rather than love. Such control wounds relationships and breeds distrust. In Christ, we are called to yield—not to oppressive control, but to God’s loving authority that brings freedom and healing. As we trust Him, He teaches us to forgive, set healthy boundaries, and walk humbly. True humility isn’t weakness; it’s strength under God’s control, leading to grace and restoration.

Application
Ask God to heal wounds caused by controlling relationships.
Identify one area where humility can bring peace and strength.
Pray for wisdom to set healthy boundaries rooted in God’s love.

Connection
Thank You, Lord, for clothing me with humility and covering me with grace. Heal the areas hurt by control and help me trust Your authority above all else. Teach me to walk humbly and freely in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
