Take No Thought for Tomorrow

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. - Matthew 6:34 NKJV

Taking no thought for tomorrow is easier said than done. The evil we face today tempts us to be fearful and question God's plans for our lives. Even though we have enough to deal with today, thoughts of may-bes and what-ifs bombard us, leading us to consider our tomorrow as though it is today.

Based on our experiences, subconsciously, we might even think that if we prepare for the worst, it will not traumatize us when it happens. Instead of our assumptions and scenarios playing a bad ending, we must, by faith, meditate on this scripture and push the repeat button on God's promises. In obedience to God's Word, we leave our future in His mighty hands.

No matter what we think our tomorrow will be, we cannot know what will unfold for sure. God knows, and that should be enough to give us peace to stay hopeful in Him. His plans are glorious! Setting goals to fulfill our desires is wisdom. What the Lord refers to here is worrying about the outcome, expecting the worst instead of the best. Over thinking to the point of restlessness. We have enough to consider today. Let’s leave tomorrow for tomorrow, from glory to glory!
