Turn On the Light Switch
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. - Psalm. 119:105
When we find ourselves in a dark room, we look for a light switch. While looking for it, we stumble and bump into things we do not see, even in our own home. The moment we find it and turn it on, is the very moment the light expels the darkness. It is the same way in our spiritual lives. We need to find, turn on and keep the light switches on.
A powerful switch is the Word of God. It feeds our spirits, renews our minds, and strengthens us. As a lamp unto our feet, the Word is light and brings light. It enlightens our paths regardless of the surrounding darkness. It keeps us from walking in the wrong directions and protects us from stumbling blocks.
To keep the switch on, we keep the reading of the Word as our daily bread. In trying times, we search the scriptures relating to our situation. Even ten minutes in the morning, at lunch, and in the evening feed us more than we realize. The presence of the Lord in our lives becomes more visible, from glory to glory!
