Do You Love the Lord Your God?

Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ - Matthew 22:37-39.

It's during our trials that our adversary, satan, tries to cause us to love God less. Since he who fears has not been made perfect in love (1 John 4:18), he uses fear. His lies say we will not make it, and God doesn't care about us. As a result, He tempts us to love God less. The Spirit of God does the opposite: He empowers us and increases our love.

There is nothing we can do for God to love us less. He has already showed His love for us through the sacrifice of Jesus. Father God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believed in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). We can rest in His love and love Him wholeheartedly.

Love never fails. It is the greatest gift, the greatest message, and the greatest weapon. Let's pray to believe and receive more of His love! He will surely answer our prayer. As we commune with Him, in worship and adoration, we will love Him, and others, with all our hearts, from glory to glory!
