We Dare Not

For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. - 2 Cor. 10:12

The Spirit of God leads us toward unity, eliminating the need for competition. In the Body of Christ, we are called to complete one another, not compete against each other. Competition can hinder the growth and flourishing of each member in the place God has positioned them. Unlike the world, the Kingdom of God does not celebrate rivalry. We try not to compare.

In Christ, we are of one mind and one accord—one body and one family. We rejoice in the blessings of others, knowing that every achievement benefits us all. Every joint supplies, and our value in God’s eyes, is immeasurable. Someone else’s success does not diminish our own worth, nor does it define us as failures. We walk by faith, not by sight, trusting that what the Lord calls us to do, He empowers us to accomplish, regardless of any competition we might face.

In the natural, it may appear others have a better position, but there is always more to their story than we can see. The best position is the one we all share in Christ. We hope to be who He calls us to be, to do what He calls us to do, and to rest in His unwavering love and value for us,  from glory to glory!
