Trusting in God's Promises

He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. - Rom. 4:20-21
For Isaac’s birth, Abraham didn’t focus on his own age or his wife Sarah’s condition, even though he was ninety-nine and she was eighty-nine years old. To see God’s promise fulfilled, Abraham had to remain unmoved by the natural circumstances surrounding him. He was fully convinced and unwavering in his trust in the One who made the promise—God, no matter what was required of him in the process.
As we walk in faith today, we must consider what we should not dwell upon. Is it our age, strength, finances, or appearance? Or perhaps the condition of others—whether a spouse, a friend, or a business associate? We must learn to walk by faith, not by sight, trusting in God's promises, and deepening our understanding of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
When we give glory to God, we grow in our trust of His ways, even when they are unknown or unclear. We can be fully persuaded that what God has promised in His Word, He is more than able to fulfill. His promises rely on His abilities, not ours. Unmovable, unshaken, and determined, we continue onward in our journey of faith, from glory to glory!
