The Battles Before and After

“… a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year." - Deut. 11:12.
Spiritual battles often surround us—both before and after following the Lord's guidance. These conflicts frequently arise in our thoughts. Before we step forward in obedience, doubts, fears, and a sense of inadequacy try to hold us back. But when we rebuke those lies and obey His leading, another challenge often appears, attempting to discourage us from continuing.
The battle that follows obedience is designed to prevent us from doing anything for the Lord again. As the anointing increases through our obedience to the Holy Spirit, the enemy intensifies his attacks, hoping to stop us in our tracks. He uses fear and insecurity to make us doubt ourselves and our ability to serve God. But our victory comes by keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, remembering His power and faithfulness—He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
The battle after one step of obedience often becomes the "before" of the next step. With each act of faith, the Holy Spirit strengthens us, guiding us from one purpose to the next. We conquer the battles before and after by consistently taking steps of obedience, leaving no room for the enemy to derail us. In Christ, we are more than conquerors, continually moving forward, from glory to glory!
