Seek to Walk in Unity

And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. - Colossians 1:18 NKJV

Jesus Christ is the only head of the church, the Body of Christ. God desires for us to walk in unity with Him and with one another. Out of that unity, the Spirit of God moves freely and in great measure. Where we see divisions in the Body, we can pray effectively, knowing the enemy is at work because of the increase in the move of God.

The sooner we discern the divisiveness, the sooner we can refuse to fall under its prey and take authority over it in the name of Jesus. It is under the headship of Jesus that we war effectively. We are familiar with our own ways and can discern when something is trying to move us out of unity. When a car is out of alignment, it doesn’t drive smoothly and shakes. We recognize our misalignment when things are not flowing as they should. We find ourselves irritated, frustrated and out of our element.

When this happens, we reconnect to the Lord by shifting our focus on Him, prayer, and worship. We stay in that place until we experience His peace. He is the Vine; we are the branches. We can abide in Him and be forever united with Him, from glory to glory!
