The Lord Is My Light and Salvation

The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? - Psalm 27:1 NKJV

Dark seasons—marked by sickness, grief, financial hardship, depression, confusion, addiction, loneliness, and various trials—can make us feel trapped in a dark tunnel with no light in sight. However, we soon discover that the absence of visible light doesn't equate to the absence of God's presence. God works in our lives the most when we perceive it the least.

Much like a blind person sharpens their remaining senses to navigate the world, dark seasons enhance our spiritual senses. Once we are out of the tunnel, we often find our faith and trust in the Lord has significantly deepened, having learned to discern His presence in the darkness, walking by faith, not by sight.

Through it all, God increases His light, His glory, in and through our lives. He illuminates our path and leads us to freedom. Our light becomes constant; not flickering, flashing, or flooding. But bright, with a forever life, not run by battery but by the power of God. In every step, let's trust His remarkable ways, from glory to glory!
