Come Into the Ark

Then the LORD said to Noah, ‘Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.’ - Gen. 7:1

Our aim is to remain strong in the Lord and stand in His righteousness, no matter the darkness that surrounds us. Similar to Noah, who, amidst a world consumed by wickedness, upheld righteousness and unwavering devotion to God. Even when God instructed him to build an ark—something unheard of in his time—Noah obeyed without fully understanding its purpose. We are called to the same level of obedience.

We are in the world, but not of the world. For us, the ark is Jesus Christ our Lord. Interestingly, Noah’s name means “rest.” We find our rest in our ark, Christ Jesus. It is as we rest in Him, our place of safety, that we can stand firm against the fiery darts of our adversary, Satan. Though he tries to disturb our faith and disrupt our peace, he cannot move us from the strength we have in the Lord.

The Lord said to Noah, “Come into the ark,” not “Go into the ark,” indicating that He was calling Noah into a place where He Himself was dwelling. As the world grapples with increasing darkness, we are called to invite others, as the Lord leads, to “Come into the ark.” We share with them the saving grace of our Lord, letting them know that they too can be strong in the Lord. He is calling all of us to “rest in Him,” from glory to glory!
