Overcome Evil With Good

Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. - Rom. 12:21
We overcome darkness by releasing the light of Christ. Simply focusing, debating, or analyzing what is evil does not diminish its influence. One of the enemy’s tactics is to keep us so preoccupied with the darkness that we feel overwhelmed by it. Instead, we are called to abhor what is evil and hold fast to what is good.
Just as turning on a light dispels darkness, so does the light of Christ within us push back the darkness around us. No matter how much darkness tries to enter a room, it cannot extinguish the light. Wherever we are, we are shining the light of Jesus, confronting evil and stirring conflict not by our own strength, but by the conviction that His presence brings. The light of the Lord exposes hidden things and makes way for His redemptive power.
When events around us seem to magnify evil, we do not hide our light. Instead, we let it shine even brighter. We remove any bushel of fear and let faith arise. In those moments, our proclamation of who God is must grow louder. As we unite in the Spirit, our praises increase, putting the enemy to flight and overcoming evil with good, from glory to glory!
