Walking in the Name of Jesus
"Then Peter said, 'Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk'" (Acts 3:6 NKJV).
Everything we do for God, we do in the name of Jesus. Our focus remains on Him, not on ourselves. As our character is transformed into His image, our ability to trust Him working through us grows with each step of obedience to His leading.
In the natural world, people often place their trust in the name of an organization, drawing confidence and security from its reputation and strength. How much greater should our confidence be when we act in the name of the Lord? His glory is our rear guard, His presence surrounds us, His angels encamp around us, and His Spirit dwells within and upon us. In the name of Jesus, we have an assurance that far surpasses any earthly affiliation.
With the authority we have in Christ, we pray for ourselves and others, commanding every hindrance to move in Jesus' name. We enforce what He accomplished on Calvary and release His glory. Though we may not know everything we need to know, we trust God to move through us and provide what is needed as we walk in His name, from glory to glory!
