Do Not Remember the Former Things

“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old" (Isaiah 43:18 NKJV).

How challenging it is not to remember the former things, nor consider the things of old! The word remember means to recall it as if to make it active. The old helped us to be where we are today, but cannot be the present reality.

We acknowledge the negative we shouldn't recall, but not the positive. It is the past successes we must remember and appreciate. It increases our faith for today. What worked one way then will not work the same way now. This is true in relationships as well. We relate to everyone celebrating their uniqueness. When making choices, we need to take captive old mind sets and welcome the thoughts the mind of Christ has for us.

Fear of the unknown can hinder productivity and growth and keep us in the past. Discouragement, because of past failures, freezes our steps. As we yield to Him, God continues the healing process and brings new life in all He does in and through us. It is a new day in the Lord! We let go of the old and welcome the new God has for us. He leads us by His grace, from glory to glory!
