The Power of Reflecting on the Cross

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. - 1 Corinthians 1:18

Remembering the cross helps us reflect on Jesus' immense love and sacrifice. It is also a reminder that our old selves, with all their flaws and sin nature, have been crucified with Christ, and we are now offered a new life filled with grace, forgiveness, and the power of the Holy Spirit. This new life is not just a future hope, but a present reality that we can experience every day.

Water baptism and partaking in communion help us remember this reality and receive its complete provisions. Though our baptism may be in the past, its spiritual significance remains present. Through it, we identify with the Lord's death and His resurrection. When we partake in communion, we remember and receive all the Lord has accomplished for us.

The power of reflecting on the cross breaks hindrances to our fellowship with the Lord. Let's take communion on Good Friday or whenever we come across these words. It allows us to receive healing in our bodies, the precious blood of Jesus over our lives, and experience victorious triumph through trials and tribulations, from glory to glory!
