Have Confidence in God!

“… for if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. - 1 John 3:20-21

Do we ever feel unworthy of God’s amazing grace? When we fall short of His glory, it’s easy to feel condemned. But God reminds us that He is greater than our hearts and knows all things. He understands everything about us—why we do the things we do and why we sometimes fail to do what we should. Our humanity does not surprise Him, and it is His grace that brings about the changes we need in our lives.

No matter how inadequate we may feel, God is always more than enough. Though we were once unrighteous, He has made us righteous in Christ. When our hearts remind us of our shortcomings, telling us that we are not doing enough or loving enough, God reminds us of everything He has accomplished for us. In Him, we are complete. The more we face our limitations, the more we stand in awe of His ability, grace, and glory.

When our hearts condemn us, we can still have confidence in God. We may hesitate to move forward, fearing failure or recalling past mistakes. This self-doubt can quench the boldness we should have in Christ. But we must remember that our confidence should not rest in ourselves but in Him.

We have been given a new heart, one filled with the life of God. As we trust in His grace, we continue to grow,  from glory to glory!
