A Deep Longing for God's Presence

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. - Ps. 42:1

When a deer is pursued by hunters, it instinctively seeks the safety of a river, submerging itself in the waters to conceal its scent from the hounds. Similarly, our soul longs for the refuge found in God's presence. In both known and unknown battles, we must run to the Lord, earnestly seeking Him.

God deepens our longing for Him, drawing us into a more profound relationship and allowing us to abide in His presence. Meanwhile, our adversary tries to intensify his attacks, shifting our focus toward his destructive presence. We must discern his tactics and continually yield to God's ways.

In God’s presence, we find protection, power, and provision. As we continually praise the Lord, trusting that He quenches our thirst and keeps us deep in the river of His glory, He protects us from our enemies. Our deepest desire is to be filled with God's Spirit. Deep calls unto deep!

In His presence, we rest securely. He is our hiding place. He is our hiding place, where there is fullness of joy. God’s presence surrounds and protects us, and as we immerse ourselves in Him, the fragrance of Christ grows stronger, causing the enemy to flee. Let's pursue more of Christ, from glory to glory!
