Walking in the Promises of God

Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you. - Gen. 13:17
When God showed Abraham the land He had for him, He instructed him to arise and walk through it—to step into it, survey its abundance, and possess it by faith. Similarly, we have received countless blessings because of what Christ accomplished on the cross. We are walking in the promises of God, in our Promised Land, and are called to walk by faith.
For instance, if your marriage is struggling, walk through it with your spiritual senses, envisioning reconciliation, love, joy, and peace. If your body is under attack, see it being healed. If you are seeking employment, picture yourself being hired. Envision the best outcome because of what God has given you in Christ. Arise from any place where God’s will is not yet manifest, and by faith, receive what the Lord has already promised you. Then, walk it out—step by step, with confidence and trust.
We cast down imaginations that align with fleshly desires and focus on the promises of God, which are ours as part of the new covenant’s immeasurable blessings. We look beyond what we see in the natural and see Jesus on the scene, full of glory. We walk by faith, not by sight, from glory to glory!
